EBC has worked with dozens of published authors, creating promotional materials for their novels. Final deliverables span print and digital, including assets such as social media graphics, bookmarks, postcards, stickers, and more.
The below examples are a sampling of EBC work done for authors.
Client: Adam Silvera
New York Times bestselling author Adam Silvera came to EBC in need of bookmarks for his novel They Both Die at the End. The design aesthetic mirrored that of the novel’s cover, with the front of the bookmark featuring cover artwork, release date, and general marketing info. Meanwhile, smart use of spacing and labels on the reverse side helped showcase the novel’s exclusive editions.

Client: Kimberly Jones + Gilly Segal
Bestselling co-author Kimberly Jones and Gilly Segal were looking to swag set for readers, themed around their newest release. By working with the book cover’s existing color palette and energetic design elements, all pieces (postcard, stickers, and star-shaped tattoo) were branded as part of the set and easily recognizable as Why We Fly swag.

Client: Claire Legrand
New York Times bestselling author Claire Legrand needed bookmarks that could promote her most recent series while simultaneously highlighting her backlist. As a result, the bookmarks needed to be branded to her, as an author, not a particular title. By pairing her name with a tagline that sums up the type of books she writes, the design was able to communicate what a reader might expect in any of Claire’s books. Her most recent releases were featured on the front of the bookmark, while the back showcased backlist titles and pull quotes from trade reviews for each.

Client: Chelsea Mueller
Young adult author Chelsea Mueller needed bookmarks to promote her upcoming novel. Using imagery from her cover, a killer tagline, and a brief synopsis, the design avoids becoming too copy-centric—a request from Chelsea.
She was also in need of author-branded bookplates to sign for readers. By utilizing a clean framework and Chelsea’s existing logo, the final product is eye-catching yet easy to sign/personalize for readers.

Client: Natalie Lloyd
Childrens author Natalie Lloyd needed bookmarks to promote her general author brand, as well as all her titles. Custom illustrations that Natalie had commissioned elsewhere where used on the front of the bookmark and paired with friendly, handwritten fonts. Her titles where displayed on the reverse alongside a QR that readers could scan to get more information.
Natalie was also in need of author-branded bookplates. The same custom illustrations and friendly fonts were used here, creating a charming end product to sign/personalize for readers.

Client: Veronica Bane
USA Today Bestselling author Veronica Bane hired EBC to create a series of assets to help promote her upcoming release, Dangerous Girls. We started with promotional print materials. Bookmarks were designed to match the cover’s aesthetic, with the novel pitch on one side and several reviews/blurbs on the reverse. Bookplates were also created, leveraging a simplistic design that hinted at the thriller genre Veronica writes while leaving ample room for her signature.
In the digital space, Veronica wanted several review/blurb graphics that she could roll out on instsagram over the course of several weeks, as well as a singular preorder graphic. The later needed to show all the items readers could snag by preordering the novel. All digital assets were again designed to mimic the book cover’s look/feel.

Client: Jennifer Blecher
Middle grade author Jennifer Blecher needed postcards designed for her upcoming release, Stick with Me. Her plan was to send these to booksellers, librarians, and educators to raise awareness about the novel, so the design needed to clearly communicate what the book was about and why it should be added to the recipient’s collection. The novel’s cover art informed the general design direction. “Sticker” artwork pulled from the cover was carefully positioned around pitch copy, early trade reviews, and the author’s website and publisher logo.

Client: J.C. Cervantes
Bestselling author J.C. Cervantes was looking for promotional graphics that could help raise awareness of her upcoming release—the third and final installment of a middle grade trilogy. Focusing on instagram, teaser quotes were designed for the author’s main feed and quiz templates were created for her insta stories.
Shown here are the quiz templates. These activities sought to encourage engagement by proposing scenarios that tied into the book/series and allowing users to fill out and repost their results to their own stories. Content and copy was developed during design, with the author providing tweaks/edits where necessary.

Client: Amy Tintera
Bestselling author Amy Tintera hired me to design some social media graphics to help drum up interest in her upcoming YA release. She wanted to tease snippets from the book while also highlighting the early praise the novel was receiving from fellow authors.
Shown here are teaser quote graphics as well as blurbs/reviews from other authors, all of which pull in the aesthetics of the novel’s cover. These were delivered as digital files for Amy to post to her instagram at her convenience.

Client: Eric Geron
MG and YA author Eric Geron wanted a promotional graphic for his upcoming novels, but in two versions: one square for his main feed and another for his insta stories. These graphics were built out using his covers as a starting point for creative direction.
Eric was also looking to get some A+ graphics made for his YA novel’s Amazon product page. These again used his cover as a starting point and were designed to use a combination of promotional copy and reviews/accolades.

Client: Jessica Spotswood, Mackenzi Lee
Examples of sticker sheets designed for authors Jessica Spotswood and Mackenzi Lee, respectively.
Both sheets feature quotes from the author’s novels, with artwork pulled from the covers. Careful font and color palette selections were made to match the aesthetic established by the novels’ artwork. Design work includes not only the layout of the stickers but the background artwork of the sheet itself.

Client: Jessica Spotswood, Katherine Locke
Additional examples of bookmark design done for young adult authors Jessica Spotswood and Katherine Locke, respectively.
Both designs were focused on promoting a certain title, with cover(s), reviews/praise, and tagline included to give readers more information about the novel.
